FR Les Théâtres de la Ville continuent leur collaboration avec le chorégraphe Serge Aimé Coulibaly et présentent cette saison les trois pièces lauréates de son concours biannuel Africa Simply the Best, qui récompense les meilleures créations africaines en danse chorégraphique solo. Le public luxembourgeois a ainsi l’occasion de voir la pièce poignante La Quatrième, du danseur et chorégraphe togolais Koffi-Kegou Afiadegnigban, un solo intime qui explore la question de la polygamie, une réalité profonde dans de nombreuses sociétés africaines. Le deuxième lauréat est Aziz Zoundi, avec sa pièce Chute perpétuelle, un solo introspectif sur le deuil. La pièce Banbali 100 fin de l’artiste malienne Kadidja Tiemanta, thématisant la résilience face à la maladie, clôture cette soirée placée sous le signe de la créativité, de l’innovation et de l’originalité de la culture panafricaine.
EN Continuing their collaboration with choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly, the Théâtres de la Ville are able to offer this unique opportunity to see the three winning acts from Africa Simply the Best’s fifth edition. The competition for the best dance solo, curated by Coulibaly, takes place every two years, and serves as a platform for young African creators to showcase their talent, whilst promoting cross-cultural exchange. In La Quatrième, Koffi-Kegou Afiadegnigban (Togo) explores the complexities of polygamy based on his upbringing in a polygamous family. Aziz Zoundi (Burkina Faso) shares his journey through Chute perpétuelle, reflecting on his struggles, including the loss of his aunt to cancer, and the challenges of pursuing dance amidst societal prejudices. Whereas Kadidja Tiemanta (Mali) presents Banbali 100 fin, a poignant exploration of resilience in the face of her mother's Parkinson's disease.
DE Seit vielen Jahren ist Serge Aimé Coulibaly ein regelmäßiger Gast an den Théâtres de la Ville. Dieses Mal präsentiert der Tänzer und Choreograf die GewinnerInnen der fünften Ausgabe seines Solotanzwettbewerbs Africa Simply the Best, der sich als Fixpunkt der jungen afrikanischen Szene etabliert hat. Drei Stücke stehen auf dem Programm: Koffi-Kegou Afiadegnigban (Togo) beschäftigt sich in La Quatrième mit Polygamie – eine Realität in vielen afrikanischen Gesellschaften. In Chute perpétuelle zeigt Aziz Zoundi (Burkina Faso) einen Künstler, der gegen persönliche Schicksalsschläge ankämpft und sich weigert aufzugeben. Auch Banbali 100 fin von Kadidja Tiemanta (Mali) kreist um Resilienz und Hilflosigkeit angesichts von Krankheit, ohne auf Hoffnung zu verzichten. Zuletzt triumphiert an diesem Abend sowieso der Tanz!
