On February 19, the Kufa will welcome Diana Burkout, a member of the Russian artistic and activist collective PUSSY RIOT, and New Age Doom, a collective/platform formed around the duo Eric J. Breitenbach and Greg, who are specialised in completely unique live performances that don't fit into any musical box.
Diana Burkot is a Moscow-based drummer, producer and sound artist. She has been passionate about drums and electronic music since the age of 18 and has become a key figure in Moscow's DIY music scene. She performs in various projects, including the no-wave inspired synthesiser trio Fanny Kaplan, the feminist performance art group Pripoy and her solo project Rosemary Loves A Blackberry. She is also known as the drummer, singer and activist of the feminist band Pussy Riot, for which she had to flee from the Russian police to Ukraine in 2011.
She has toured extensively abroad, sharing the stage with renowned experimental and rock bands such as Soft Moon, Japanther and Inga Copeland.
New Age Doom is known for its energetic live shows and immersive sound.. Made up of lead duo Eric J. Breitenbach and Greg Valou and a roster of international musical talent, New Age Doom is a genre-defying platform for experimentation and collaboration., where many musical and aesthetic interests are combined to create powerful sonic statements.
The band's music blends elements of drone metal and progressive rock with jazz, dub and very different styles of music to create a unique and immersive sound that has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike.
