Traditional Japanese Rope Bondage

Callibari Workshop: Kinbaku Essentials

Are you ready to dive into the world of rope? This workshop is your starting point for building your solid base. During this workshop, we will take you step-by-step through the foundation of Kinbaku, a traditional Japanese rope bondage. You’ll learn how to tie arms, and legs fluently, and how to combine different ties to play with the full body.

The ties we choose will help you to understand how you can use ‘frictions’ and other techniques to create the effect that you want. Which posture and sensations do you want to give your model? How do you do this in a way that looks aesthetic to you and how do you make sure that safety comes first? You’ll notice that this workshop will help you to improve your rope handling and your feelings for tying in general of course we also pay attention to communication and all kinds of dynamics during play.

If you come to this workshop as a model, you get to experience ties on most body parts. This is a great opportunity to find out what you like and what you don’t like and to communicate with your rigger about the physical and mental effects of the tying process. This is a very important skill since the collaboration between the two of you decides how your play scene unfolds in terms of safety, sexiness, fun, depth, or whatever it is that you want to get out of your rope time!

You’ll come home with a solid Japanese rope bondage foundation and the skill to safely and playfully combine essential Kinbaku elements.
