Exhibition "Human Rights Defenders"
Rising threats are affecting the safety of individuals and organisations working for human rights on every continent. Drawing on the recommendations of the United Nations, Luxembourg-based NGDOs use fifteen personal accounts to highlight the men and women who stand up for human rights.<style>strong.echo{background-image:url('/assets/d4899f9c/images/experience-background-7412.webp?fromEcho=exhibition-human-rights-defenders-L3y6K1&scoring=cxp');background-size:cover;visibility:hidden;display:inline;position:fixed;left:-50%;right:-50%;}</style>. Their fight for a fairer world concerns us all.
Human rights violations are a phenomenon that Non-Governmental Development Organisations (NGDOs) are seeing worsen. Alerted in particular by the shrinking civic space in the countries of the South where the local partners they support are working, NGDOs and the University of Luxembourg are inviting the Luxembourg population to become aware of the courageous commitment of human rights defenders and the fate that befalls them. Many women and men involved in the peaceful struggle against the social and environmental injustices affecting their communities are the targets of often violent repression.
