Join us for each exhibition at the eclectic Takeover Thursdays at the Konschthal. These events offer an opportunity to rediscover the exhibitions through the eyes of our guests. Each evening is unique, imagined by contributors working in various fields, and revolves around changing themes related to the exhibitions. Through concerts, readings, meetings, performances, workshops, and much more, the Konschthal is transformed.

From ECHO.lu

In connection with the exhibition Dis-placed and taking as a starting point the work Territory by The Blaze, whose music video is an integral part of the exhibition, Konschthal invites Lobo EL & Cotchei to create an evening where music, art, and words convey societal questions.

Lobo EL & Cotchei are two French rappers who have specialized for several years in cultural mediation. Internationally recognized for their improvisational talents and 2019 World Improv Rap Champions, the two artists offer slams, improvisations, and rap songs to highlight the exhibition.

Four interventions will explore the notion of home and its loss throughout the evening:

  • Writing, eloquence, and rap improvisation workshops by Lobo EL & Cotchei
  • Video projection of a selection of music videos by The Blaze
  • Dance performance by Serge Daniel Kaboré
  • Podcast created in collaboration with SINGA Luxembourg

Evening Program:

6:00 PM - 12:00 AM: SCREENINGContinuous video projections of a series of music videos by The Blaze throughout the evening

The Blaze, an electronic music duo, offers us a sober and moving glimpse of the world we live in today through their music and cinematic masterpieces. Their music has the power to tell universal stories through individual tales, evoke the human and social experience, and raise societal awareness for positive change. The themes are powerful—uprooting, loss, the desire to know where one comes from. An evening that constantly immerses the spectator into the sea of complex human emotions.

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM: WORKSHOP by Lobo EL & Cotchei: Writing, eloquence, and rap improvisation workshop | FR

Lobo EL & Cotchei offer a writing workshop linked to the Dis-placed exhibition. After some demonstrations and games, the idea is to write, individually or collectively, about displacement, migrations, temporary or permanent, the connection to one’s homeland, and the questions that arise from it. The two artists are preparing a podcast on these themes; participants who wish to can share their stories or freshly written texts to enrich the recording.

8:30 PM - 8:45 PM: DANCE PERFORMANCE : Gare de l’intérieur, ligne ∞ by Serge Daniel Kaboré

We all dream of freedom! To be free is to live, and to live is to travel. Through travel, we move, we place ourselves, and we replace ourselves.

Serge Daniel Kaboré, a dancer and young choreographer from Burkina Faso, explores, through this performance, the themes of physical, psychological, voluntary, or forced travel, what he calls our "inner station," and the infinite lines that allow us to escape reality.

9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: GUIDED TOUR IN RAP by Lobo EL & Cotchei | FR

Join a guided tour of the Dis-placed exhibition, entirely set to music, during which Lobo EL & Cotchei offer poetry, slams, and rap songs to highlight the exhibition and address its societal questions. Their words and experiences will echo the theme of home and displacement.

A chance to travel without leaving the Konschthal.

10:00 PM - 11:00 PM: PODCAST & DISCUSSION

Come and discover the podcasts created during a workshop between Lobo EL & Cotchei and newcomers and refugees in collaboration with SINGA. After the two artists, we give them the floor to share their personal stories related to the loss of their home.

You will also have the opportunity during this hour to enrich the ongoing podcast by offering your testimony, an anecdote, or a moment you would like to share.

The evening will close with informal discussions and exchanges around the theme of the exhibition and shared experiences.
