.

A selection of the monumental paintings themselves are also currently to be seen on the Creutz (&) Friends site.

About the artist

Monique Becker (from Luxembourg) offers a superposition of colours and successive layers of paint in her work. Colour is not understood as a hue but as a substance - spillable, splashable and smearable. Her works are deeply connected to the self, determined by her personality. She is not restricted to a revival of informal painting but develops an action painting, with an open development towards the future.

.

Monique Becker’s recent work emerged from an intense experience, during which she pushed her paintings to a new scale. Over a period of 18 months, she developed a series of monumental works - reflecting a profound dialogue between movement and material.

The current exhibition at Creutz (&) Friends presents selected pieces from this transformative period. It demonstrates her evolving approach to abstraction and spatial engagement.
