A tour through the orchards

In the past, there were orchards around every village, providing the inhabitants with the fruit they needed. Over the last few decades, these ‘green oases’ have been disappearing more and more. And yet, as well as producing fruit, orchards are important habitats for many insects, birds and other animals.
