Birds carry a poetic power that has often made them take on a role beyond themselves. Without dismissing their metaphorical potential, ludovic hadjeras sketches a map of his various encounters with birds between Luxembourg and Algeria: in the words of Mahmoud Darwish, on Algerian banknotes, in the Schlammwiss nature reserve, under the roof of his bedroom - literally above his head when he sleeps.
ludovic hadjeras is a visual artist whose work addresses, among other things, quasi-identity issues relating to the relationship between humans and non-humans. At the heart of his practice is a particular attention to the spaces occupied by other animals, seeking contact and sometimes collaboration. Living on an axis between Amsterdam and Algiers, his movements and the encounters that emerge from them are reflected in his practice in the form of installations, sculptures, videos and writings.
