De blannen Theis

Mathias Schou was born blind or partially sighted in 1747 in Grevenmacher. He made his living singing the first songs in Luxembourgish at festivals and fairs. He died a poor man in Eich in 1824. A sculpture of ‘blannen Theis’ has been on display in his home town since 1991.
