In search of the finest grapes
Small country, great wines: cultivated since Antiquity in Luxembourg, the vine has sculpted the unique silhouette of the Moselle hillsides.
Today, it produces wines, crémants and late harvest wines of international reputation, made from famous grape varieties: Riesling, Pinots, Gewürztraminer, Auxerrois, Rivaner, Elbling and Chardonnay.
Winemakers increasingly turn to new and surprising rediscovered methods – from the use of drones for pest control to the ageing of wines in clay pots buried in the ground known as amphorae. A new generation of young vintners is keen to innovate and is practising organic and sustainable viticulture.
