Birth handelt von Mutterschaft, Leben und Liebe. Es erkundet die Zerbrechlichkeit menschlicher Existenz in einer überaus zugänglichen Form, die neu in Auftrag gegebene Live-Musik mit ausdruckstarkem nonverbalem Theater verbindet. Emily ist im achten Monat schwanger, als sie beginnt, das Tagebuch ihrer Großmutter zu lesen. Nach und nach dringt sie in die Tiefen ihrer Familiengeschichte ein und enthüllt ein Vermächtnis von Mut, stillen Tragödien und bedingungsloser Liebe. So zeichnet das Stück den Weg dreier Frauen nach, die ineinander Selbstakzeptanz, Hoffnung und Stärke entdecken.
