The « Association to promote rural tourism in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg“:

• is the only association body to administer the title as an “accommodation of rural tourism”.
• is a member for the national board for tourism (Luxembourg for Tourism LfT).
• is a liaison for the active local partners in the field of tourism (local tourist offices as well as other local tourist organisations).
• is the Luxembourgish member of the European Federation of Rural Tourism (RURALTOUR - www.ruraltour.eu).
• the key contact for … and the representation of … the owners of holidays homes in Luxembourg.
• the only association promoting under their “APTR” label and acting a official classification of rural holiday homes in cooperation with the ministry for 30 years in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

For tourists, the APTR offers

• a repertory of their extensive offer of holiday homes and group accommodations to be found under www.gites.lu and www.agritourisme.lu
• a reliable classification of established criteria for rural holiday homes in 1 to 4 categories of quality (ears).

If tourists choose a holiday home classified by … and member of the APTR association they can be sure that the high quality offered complies with local legal standards and regulations in size of the accommodation, lightning of the rooms, sanitary equipment etc. specified under the label the “Rooster” in the national colors.

The owners for holiday homes will also comply with standards with regard to hospitality and service such as

• a personal welcome with all relevant information of the accommodation and the local tourist offer as well as guidance for the stay.
• a offer of special historic rural historic buildings and/or classified “Supplementary inventory of Luxembourg Sites and Monuments” holiday homes with usually limited access to a small number of guests.

With the APTR the visitor’s and tourists will be sure to get a personalised service and carefree stay with regards to:

a high level grouping of private holiday home owners passionate about Luxembourg’s nature and the wellbeing of their guests.

Benefits

As a new member, if you choose to become a member, you will benefit from a whole range of services for a membership fee, set for 2024/2025 at 75,- Euro, from an association that defends your interests in the niche sector of tourist accommodation to the best of its ability and, above all, represents ‘You’ at national and international level.

Among other things, the APTR offers you :

• the free service of a professional photographer who, if you wish, will come to your home to take photos which will be made available to you to increase your visibility and give an overview of your accommodation(s).
• a new TRPA website www.gites.lu, offering an up-to-date and operational overview of the association's gîtes.
• additional publication of your data under an additional domain - www.agritourisme.lu as well as representation with ‘Eurogîtes’ and many others.
• A classification (1 to 4 ‘épis’) which will be able to guide tourists towards quality-categorised accommodation, with the support of the Ministry of the Economy/Tourism Department.

In order to optimise your visibility to tourists, we can provide you with an aluminium plate with the APTR logo (cost 40,- Euro) which is ideally suited to being affixed to the front of the building housing the tourist accommodation. This plate ‘identifies’ our members.

When your accommodation is classified, two members of the APTR committee, accompanied by two representatives of the Ministry/Directorate of Tourism and the Ministry of Agriculture, will decide on the category of your accommodation. This assessment will then be valid for a period of four years. During this period we will of course remain at your disposal for advice and opinions and are determined to defend the interests of APTR members with the Ministry of the Economy/Directorate of Tourism.

In order to offer the best possible service and cooperation within our Association, we invite you to send us your suggestions and opinions regarding the development of rental tourism in Luxembourg. We also encourage an active relationship and cooperation between our APTR members so that other members of our association can benefit from any ‘unavailability’ of a stay in your establishment.
