Description
Near the German-Luxembourg border, the Auto-Pédestre Wahlhausen impresses with pristine landscapes and panoramic views.
The Auto-Pédestre Wahlhausen starts in the village center. First, it goes over meadows and fields, then through dense forests, always downhill, almost to the Our river. On the other side of the river, you can see the German village of Gemünd.
Here the path turns and leads along a stream through the Akeschterbësch. This forest has been protected as a natural forest reserve since 2014. Thus, the forest can develop naturally. Visitors are only allowed to explore this primeval forest on designated paths. By the way, the Akescht is one of the only beech forests in the Éislek region.
After leaving the dense forest, you reach Wahlhausen and the end of your walk.
